Why does my cell phone get so hot after I talk on it?

I just got a new phone and after I talk on it for like 30 minutes it starts getting really hot. Does anyone know why this happens? Is there something wrong with my phone or is it normal? Thanks

It is perfectly normal, cell phones were not designed for constant talking, they were designed for short conversations. The longer you talk/game on your cell phone, especially while driving, the harder the phone has to work handing off your conversation from tower to tower. This causes the battery to drain more quickly and as energy is transferred from the battery to the actual phone, the phone heats up.. So just getting hot or warm is normal, now if your phone becomes scalding hot or starts smoking, then you have a problem and the manufacturer will exchange it as a safety capture.
